Manifesto
In my artistic practice, I explore the tensions and shifting boundaries between the individual and the collective, freedom and control, cooperation and coercion.
I am interested in the movement from the collective to the individual and back: how social and cultural structures shape individual perception and behavior, and how individuals, in turn, reproduce, shift, or transform these structures. At the core of my practice are the processes through which they mutually shape one another.
I work across painting, ceramics, embroidery, printmaking, and installation. Layering images and materials allows me to bring together different, sometimes contradictory systems and explore the tensions that emerge through their interaction.
