WHEN THERE'S A CHOICE
installation

The installation "When there's a choice?" is a large web of white threads with hidden ceramic objects depicting documentary photos and quotations.

A major metaphor of the installation is the Thread as fate, as a woman's life path, as it was woven by Moira in ancient Greece. I see the tangled thread of a woman's life as a lifeline and a story with myriads of obstacles, intersections and dramatic changes in her destiny, caused by many factors, first and foremost social. The thread also symbolizes a way out of any tangled situation.

I weave my thoughts on the myths and stories of Ariadne, Eurydice, Helen, Moira into the project because I relate to seeing a woman's role as the master of her own life and destiny. I strive to rethink past experiences and to look at the journey of life, its key points and events, and capture them with ceramics and photographs.
